After some research recently, I bought the above ASUS laptop at S$1,298 with all the throw-in freebies which I felt was a very good deal. Fyi, the ASUS laptop box already contains a free ASUS USB mouse. The boot up timing is awesome and all thanks to the 24GB SSD. It takes around 10-15 seconds to power up my laptop to Windows login screen. Usually, booting up with the normal hard disk takes around 40-50 seconds. The other thing I like about this laptop is it runs pretty quietly.

ASUS K Series laptops boast a striking thin and light minimalist design with a textured metal finish. I like the metallic chic design as well as the thin and light part given that most 14" laptops weigh about 2kg+. One of the fact that I bought this laptop is because of the Full HD display (1,920 x 1,080) that I would need to output to my external 24" Samsung Full HD monitor via HDMI cable. Most 14" laptops that I saw only support HD resolution (1366 x 768).

The laptop comes with a decent 2 years international warranty. I saw laptops from other brands offering just 1 year warranty.

In terms of durability, it's pretty subjective. I stumbled on the following statistics from CNET.

Given the price for the latest Intel^® Core™ i7 processors, dedicated NVIDIA^® GeForce^® GTX™ 9 series graphics, good RAM capacity, SSD hard disk, lightweight and slim chic design with the latest Windows 10 installed, I think it's pretty a good buy.
